I've been drinking beer and checkin out tattoo machines most of the day on the internet, i mean jezz what a bloody bewildering array of machines they have these days, back when I started there were only two company's National & Spalding and Rogers, Of course you had the hand buil machines by paul rogers and salior jerry, also some great machines by lionel Titchener Lionel made the absolute best fine liner machines! in the late 70's early 80's that was the style "everyone wanted fine line!And every one uses 5 needle outlines steadyly lost business, and back then a tattoo used to take about 3 weeks to heal and there was puss and shit coming out of the tattoos ;D ;D ;D They would close ya down in a minute if what went on then happend today!I remeber when I was sixteen and we went to burt vanderwalt tattoo palor in dandenong in a small dingy alley way ,a can of piss in one hand a fist full of hard earnt dollars in the other!And in the twightlight we entered this narrow shop neon lite shop, and immediately my senses where bombarded with tattoo images and strange smells antiseptic or what passed as antiseptic in those days,And of course the never ending buzzing off the tattoo machine , But in those days you picked your tattoo off a wall!Not like the shit you see in miami ink where some dick comes and tells you there life story!In those days the tattooist told you to sit down and shut the fuck up!And useally they where big fuckers so you didn't argue the point! So anyway all I had was fifteen dollars to get my first tattoo and it was a skull with wings it looked like a hells angel emblem! but it was pretty pathetic ,but when you think about it the tattooist was more pissed than the clients!But when I did get my first tat I though I was king shit "f@ck it makes me larf these days!"
